We believe in being straight with you: wood and MDF are more sensitive to water and steam than aluminum, so around the sink, the stove and in humid ground-floor kitchens they need more care and can swell over time if water gets in. PVC wrapping helps by sealing the surface, and good design keeps wet zones protected, but if your kitchen takes heavy daily water, we will tell you aluminum is the smarter long-term buy.
